Heartbreak Pass

Heartbreak Pass is a traditional bluegrass band based out of the Spokane, WA area. The bands features a classic lineup of mandolin,guitar, banjo,fiddle and bass. The pickers have all been playing for years but the band itself just formed last February playing a blend of traditional songs and originals. Check out this clip of an early practice from last March of the band playing the classic Get Up John. The band has recently decided to record their first CD after Wintergrass so they can deliver a top notch performance at the festival and then dedicate themselves totally to the recording. Bonnie has been singing and playing music of a variety of styles since school but for the past 10 years she has focused on bluegrass. Stan has been playing guitar for over 40 years and has been playing in regional bands for 4 years now and contributes some great originals along with his instrumental skills. Austin is the Inland Northwest Bluegrass Association’s "Banjo Player of the Year" for 2008. Kevin has only lived out in the Pacific NW for a few years after living in the southeast and playing bluegrass with many of the great bands on the east coast and has appeared on the Cumberland Highlanders Show on RFD-TV. Barry started out as a classical violinist at the age of 8 and started to play in the bluegrass and contest style of fiddle at 11.Among his contest awards at the age of 15 he won the Southern Alberta Fiddle Contest at Waterton National Park.
